Henriet van Asselt will be playing a $1000 Heads Up Challenge Against the Unabomber on October 25th!

 

As most of you are already probably aware, Phil Laak just won the WSOPE Event #1 Title, a shiny new Gold Bracelet and pocketed a tidy £170,802, not bad for a Thursday afternoon. We're convinced that his new hair cut, near death experience and trendy new UK styled cast, has given him some sort of poker superpowers. But we'll let Henriet van Asselt be the judge of that. Although, this is what Phil had to say about his new found powers...

 

"Like John Travolta in the movie Phenomenom. Since surviving that crash I can now hear the universal hum. 15th at Partouche (764 runners), 18th English Poker Open (193 runners) and now this!"

 

To celebrate this landmark in Laak’s career, Unabomber Poker hosted a final table promotion of its own, with the winner - Henriet van Asselt, moving on to a heads up match against the Unabomber himself.  If Henriet can take down the Unabomber, the $1,000 will be all his

 

We chatted with Phil after his WSOPE bracelet win and he had this to say to his future heads up opponent.

 

"I love how sick things can get when playing heads up. Can't wait! For sure will be showing a few bluffs!"
