I am a bit worried. I had a very careful sleep regimen lined up for the 5 days before I start for the record. Last night I was supposed to be asleep by
2 a.m. and wake at 10 to 10:30 a.m. I failed on both sides. First I had insomnia - it was 6:30 a.m. before I finally knocked off. And then (disaster) I woke at 10:09 a.m. It seems I couldn't stop wondering what time it was. I tossed and turned wondering and then woke up to find that it was way too early. Not good. Less than 4 hours of sleep last night. My physical training regimen has been great, but I am afraid if I can't relax a bit I might have to start with a deficit in the pre-rest department.
On the other bright side, my fastest 10k run ace ever occurred after a drunken night out and on only 50 minutes of sleep. And I started the run still drunk no less! Yes, for some reason I was drinking the night before. I had great intentions for that race; I never did figure out why I ended up drinking the night before, but sometimes life is just like that. I didn't get home that night until 5 a.m. The race had a 7 a.m. start time and though I felt awful upon wakening, but in the end I crushed that race. I crushed it. My fastest time ever. If memory serves, I felt sober by the finish line. (It was something like 7:20 minute miles if I recall, which for me, back in the day, was an amazing time.)
Well, I am hoping with two nights of sleep yet before the event kicks off (Wed, June 2 at noon) I will be able to relax a bit and get some much needed sleep in.
----------------
In other 'record attempt' regimen news....
Yesterday (during my workout) I felt like a gazelle. My 24 minute scheduled run morphed into a 50 minute one. It was as if all my super human mind tricks about having incredible endurance (for not sleeping) had somehow trickled over into my exercise regimen. I felt amazing. If I wasn't trying to time all my physiological needs so precisely for this upcoming event everything in me felt like cranking out a semi enduro run (maybe 90 minutes or so.)
Today I have a 40 minute gym routine planned. And tomorrow a 30 minute routine. And the next day at noon I start.
---------------
Later for now

You want a free trip to vegas? Chill at the Bellagio for 3 days all on me? Well then, it is simple.
1) Deposit 50$ on Unabomberpoker.com
2) Click on "Tournaments/Events" and enter the Freeroll at 6 pm today (pst)
3) 50$ is RETURNED after you are entered into the freeroll.
4) Win the tournament. (as of this moment there is only one person registered)
If more people don't sign up this may go down as the best overlay tournament EVER.
-----------
You can also write an essay 100-250 words long. That could win you a ticket too.
Or you could just win a ticket our of a random draw we are doing. But your best chance is probably the tournament.
(This link has a bit more about it ------ https://unabomberpoker.com/Promotions/seephilmakehistory.aspx
Anyway...
Good luck.

Went to Aria tonight. Iveny Invitational pre-party thing. 275 runners all going after 1,000,000 dollars in prize money. It will be over
fast (6 hrs) so I expect to see gamble style poker. Should be a lot of fun. (Starts manana - Sat - at noon.)
Cool highlights.
1/4 mil for first place
If you win you get a shot at another qtr mil if you can beat Ivey in a heads up match afterwards.
There are many bountys. (Jennifer and I are two of many. Everyone's bounty is for 5,000 dollars. Sick.)
And should you be lucky enough to knock out the man himself (Ivey - obv) then you will collect a cool 100,000 dollars.
I am very happy for Jennifer as she is at the infamous table 17! This is Ivey's table. Wow. (I am at table 14, and I have no
idea who will be at my table.)
The rumor mill at the pre party (Duece - at Aria) was that there are only about 25 pros or so in the event. (Out of 275). That is cool.
The gift bag was righteous. I-pods, a set of headphones, and some knick knacks. (The head phones are super phat high tech comfy style ones.)
And what else... I don't know. Oh yeah... I am going to give a shout out for my girl... I would love it if she got picked for the
WSOP tourney of champions thing. Here is the link ----------> http://www.wsop.com/TOC/
I will give a twitter update (realphillaak) manana if anything interesting happens.
Later all my degen friends.

P.S. Interesting door locks for the rooms at the hotel over there. Just a flat thing that you put your key up to and presto, door opens. We are in the future.
I already knew we were in it, but it is nice to have little things like this pop up from time to time to remind you.

Half of any money that I win during this enduro session I will be donating to Camp Sunshine. (http://www.campsunshine.org/).
This is an amazing place that enables kids with life-threatening illnesses to go and have a good time at what is essentially a summer
camp (that just so happens to have onsite medical support 24 hours a day).
Good luck to me!
